Who books City Hall portraits without a ceremony
Anniversary portraits at SF City Hall
Celebrating one year or twenty-five? Get portraits of the two of you on the Grand Staircase, the upper balconies and under the rotunda, on any day that works for you. Wear what you like.
Vow renewal portraits at SF City Hall
Planning a vow renewal, at City Hall or somewhere else? Book portraits for the day of or any day around it, in your wedding clothes, something new, or something in between. Sessions run 90 minutes to 3 hours and include all retouched images.
Already married, or married at a courthouse
If you married at a courthouse, at home, or with only a few photos taken, you can still get portraits at City Hall. Book days, months or years later, in whatever you wear now.
Married somewhere outside SF City Hall
Married in another city or country and want San Francisco in your photos? City Hall works as a backdrop whether you live here or are visiting. Tell me your dates and I'll check them.
What a City Hall portrait session includes
A typical session moves through the Grand Staircase, the upper balconies and the rotunda, then outside to the doors and Civic Center Plaza if we have time. I tell you what to do as we go, so you never have to memorize poses. Wedding clothes are welcome, and so is anything else you like. I send a short outfit guide once we pick your date.
I'm Isabella, a Bay Area photographer based in Daly City, and I've been photographing people professionally since 2018. I've photographed portraits at San Francisco City Hall, including one afternoon session in bright, high sun. Every photo is edited by hand, and I never use AI to change how you look. During your session I tell you what to do as we go, so you never have to memorize a pose.

Here's how easy it is
-
My City Hall portraits are $850 for 90 minutes, $1,150 for 2 hours and $1,595 for 3 hours. Ceremony coverage is available on request for a flat $300 added to any package.
-
Rules vary by location and can change, so a permit or approval may be required for some locations or for ceremony coverage. Please confirm with City Hall before your session. If one is required, the permit cost is the client's responsibility, and I'll let you know ahead of time.
-
No. Portraits work whether you're marrying that day, already married, or just want City Hall behind you. Book the same day as your ceremony, or any other day, including an anniversary or vow renewal, even years later.
-
Yes. I keep City Hall sessions to you plus up to 6 guests, the same number civil ceremonies allow. Some clients have brought relatives along. If you add ceremony coverage for a private ceremony, which can have more guests, your portraits are still just you plus up to 6 guests. I don't photograph portraits of the larger guest list.
-
Whenever City Hall is open. City Hall books by available slot, so most people don't get to choose golden hour, and that's okay. One of my City Hall sessions was an afternoon appointment in bright, high sun, and the photos worked. If your slot is a hard one for light, I'll tell you before you book.

Ceremony coverage is available on request for a flat $300 added to any package. It covers a one-hour private ceremony and has to be on your actual ceremony day, and it may require a permit or approval from City Hall, which you arrange and pay for. Requirements can vary by ceremony type, so please confirm with City Hall when you book your ceremony. If you need a witness, I'm willing to be yours.
-
Yes. If you need a witness for your ceremony, I'm happy to be yours. Just let me know when you book.
-
Your fully edited, high-res gallery arrives within 2 weeks. I'll usually send a few favorites sooner.
-
I edit every photo by hand, using standard editing software to adjust light and color. I never use AI to change how you look: no reshaping faces or bodies, no swapped expressions, no generated people. What you see is what happened.
-
Let me know as soon as you can and we'll find another date. Bookings within a week of the session require full payment upfront, so reach out early if your plans are still firming up.
